We are Edenspiekermann, an independent, international Design Consultancy. With a team of around 100 people across our offices in Amsterdam, Berlin and Los Angeles, including designers, developers, consultants, researchers, creatives and makers from around 20 different nations. We work with international clients like City of Santa Monica, The Economist, HamburgerHochbahn, unu Scooters, NanoScent, and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

How we work

We develop digital products or services with a user-centric approach and create value by advising and coaching our client’s teams to provide the best customer experience for their customers. We unlock business opportunities through venture design and technology. We combine conceptual thinking, a sophisticated understanding of design and a deep knowledge of web and app development to develop a digital product or service with a user-centric approach. Our interaction designers work in agile and interdisciplinary teams on websites and platforms for major brands as well as for startups.

About the Design Director position 

As Design Director you shape our design strategy and our diverse solutions. You are an inspiring team lead for your UX & UI experts with a big experience and dedication for design excellence. You are strategic-thinking and able to translate the requests into convincing experiences and digital products. In your role as project owner you are the first contact person for your team and for the client. Our people, our culture and our attitude are making us unique. We are looking for a personality that does not only understand our mindset but further improve it.

Who we are looking for

• You have a minimum of 6 years experience in the digital creative world and made first experiences in a leadership position
• You have worked in a dynamic and agile environment and are comfortable in a leading / creating role in the first line as well in the background 
• Your communication skills are excellent and you apply them in English, German and with body language
• Thanks to your communication skills you contribute to our trust- and respectful feedback mentality
• You are  ready to motivate teams for complex tasks
• You bring a hands-on mentality and a positive, business-oriented mindset; a personal dedication to make the best out of your projects
• You feel confident moderating design sprints and workshops
