This summer sees the start of a new web portal, sentres.com, a platform for sustainable tourism and leisure facilities in South Tyrol. Together with Geo Marketing GmbH in Bolzano-Bozen, Edenspiekermann has developed the innovative portal from the ground up.

Edenspiekermann co-developed the concept and has been a part of the entire process from brand strategy and naming through to the interactive user interface design of the online portal. The international team is continuing to work intensively on optimising the user experience and the look and feel of the website until the word go.

The teams from Amsterdam, Berlin and Bolzano overcame geographical boundaries thanks to web-based software such as Skype and Basecamp. Their close teamwork meant that the project could be designed as an interactive process. As Robert Stulle, creative director and partner at Edenspiekermann, explains: “We work with prototypes that make interactive design directly experienceable and which may be used for usability tests. That way we can permanently improve and test the web portal.”

Starting in Summer 2010 the innovative platform will present innumerable routes and tours for ramblers, cyclists and mountaineers. Being the subsidiary of the book publishers Athesia and Tappeiner, Geo Marketing GmbH has a 30-year archive of tour descriptions. In addition, the web portal offers extensive interactive information about scenic and tourist points of interest in the South Tyrol region. Further destinations are planned.
