Relaunching the donation platform of Swiss Red Cross

For the past 20 years the people of Switzerland have donated care packages to those in need via post parcel on 2xweihnachten.ch a christmas initiative of the Swiss Red Cross, Swiss Post, and Coop. Established in 1997, the campaign in 2016/2017 was able to send out over 66,000 parcels to the most vulnerable. Based on this willingness to give, the idea was born to make it even easier for people to donate and more effective from an organisational perspective to distribute donations.

So, when the they came to us the SRK not only asked for the relaunch of their donation website but also wanted us to develop a new donation option that is even more purposeful: the online parcel. We’ve developed a concept that honors the original idea of sending a parcel of joy but also allows people to donate money for a specific purpose:

That way the organisation can purchase local goods and distribute them to those most in need. This reduces logistical efforts, costs and makes the initiative even more effective.

With the concept for the new website we strongly focused on user friendly functionalities that lowers the barrier for donation and guides the user easily, reliably and in a more transparent way through the donation process. We also realised frontend and backend development for the donation platform.
