Shortlist for the Lead Awards 2010 is Confirmed

The jury, which includes Erik Spiekermann, has named the nominees for the much-coveted Lead Awards. On March 25th the Lead Magazine of the Year 2010 will be announced along with others, among them best newcomer.

“Despite the recession the industry is much more productive than one often assumes it to be,” says Markus Peichl, director of the Lead Academy. The quality of editorial spreads has particularly increased. Hopeful challengers for Lead Magazine of the Year include the football magazine 11 Freunde, Der Spiegel and Vogue. Type and communication designer Erik Spiekermann is one of the jurors in the magazine category.

The awards ceremony takes place in Hamburg on March 25th. There will be a media and publishing industry discussion beforehand at the LeadAwards 2010 Symposium. The distinguished works will be on display as part of the LeadAwards exhibition until April 11th at the Hamburger Deichtorhallen.
